This course is crafted for dancers who want to deepen their technique and learn in a structured, progressive way—building not just steps, but a language.
🔁 The Learning Cycle
Each 3-class cycle follows a clear path:
1. Speak the Dance (Vocabulary)
Build a strong foundation with essential Zouk movements and transitions.
2. Shape the Message (Quality)
Develop texture, precision, and body awareness to enhance your expression.
3. Tell the Story (Integration)
Bring it all together in flow, connection, and creative freedom.
📚 The Full Course: 12 Classes = 4 Cycles
In this course we will work with a smaller group of dancers, more challenging exercises and advanced techniques.
It is possible to register for these classes ONLY after the teachers invitation.
If you are following classes in another city and you think you have the level to join these classes contact us privatly before registering so we can check your level.Invitational classes are weekly on Tuesdays at 19h.
Expectations of Dancers who (want to) attend this Course
To make the most of this course and grow together as a community, we expect dancers to:
1. You can safely and confortably execute following fundamental Brazilian Zouk steps as wel as onder mentioned types of Headmovements (on a spot & on top of the fundamentals)
Basic Step (Front and Back / Side Basic / In-Place Basic)
Viradinha
Lateral
Abertura (Launge / Opening)
Bonus / Boomerang
Simple Turn
Soltinho (release turn)
Body Rolls (vertical & horizontal)
Traveling Turns (single & double)
Head Movement Options
Linear head movements
Circular head movement (both directions)
Tilted turns
Roasted chicken / Grilled Chicked
Body isolations with connected head release
Flow transitions between hair whip and head roll
2. Engage with the Community
Attend our monthly socials, solo trainings, and weekenders organized by ZoukLab and other Belgian dance schools as much as possible.
3. Learn from Diverse Teachers
Attend at least two international Zouk events per year, to broaden your perspective and experience different teaching styles.
4. Keep Developing
Join the Intermediate classes to continue refining and deepening your techniques.
5. Respect Community Guidelines
Know and follow the community guidelines to help us maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
✅ Please register for all levels you plan to attend (and make the payment accordingly).
✅ Dancers in the Invitational class are strongly advised to also join Intermediate to deepen techniques. If you are registerd for the intermediate course you can attend the Starters Course for free (as long as the course in not full and you stay flexible (lead/follow) depending on what’s needed)
